Several months have passed with only some behind-the-scenes efforts being accomplished. We've gone 'round and 'round with bankers to secure all the financial paperwork necessary to begin building. I'm sorry to say that we are no closer than we were in October.
Last November Brenda and I traveled the 100 miles from our house to the lake property just to watch the sunset. That's when we took these photos and enjoyed the view. This, to me, is the most beautiful view in my entire world. I could stare at it for eternity.
I have also included a few photos to show the shoreline before the recent changes. Each winter as the wind shifts from the normal southeasterly direction to more northwesterly, the waves erode away about a foot of land. Even though our property line is offshore by about 15-20 feet and underwater, we are only allowed to recover a limited about.
We realized that time was of the essence and decided to begin constructing a retaining wall to prevent further erosion. You can see behind me that the owner of the neighboring property as reclaimed about 13 feet of land from the lake.
