The weather for our visit to the lake this Wednesday could not have been nicer. The water was perfectly flat and there was not a cloud in sight. By mid-afternoon the temperature had climbed into the 60's. Soon the trees will begin to show signs of new life.
There may not seem like much change since the last blog entry, but a lot of construction has been completed. The steel poles have all been painted battleship gray which was lighter than I imagined. The closet and sink have been walled in and covered with vinyl. Here you can see the tan with heather gray siding which we believe will look similar to the stone on our house. Also, you can see the benches which were added to the rear and side beyond the sink.
Larry said they would begin covering the ceiling with almond colored vinyl on Thursday. Eventually, all the wood above the deck will be covered.
They needed to complete the painting before the electricians began hanging the conduit for the electrical outlets and lights. This week the conduit had been buried from the electric meter at the front of the property to the dock and hung under the dock the rest of the length to the boathouse. Here you can see the man in the boat working under the deck to route the wiring up into the closet for the circuit breaker box. From there the rest of the wiring is routed up to the ceiling steel.
What is left to be completed is assembling the boat lift and installing it in the slip, adding the standing seam steel roof, installing the countertop and plumbing the sink and shower, and constructing a set of steps from the retaining wall into the lake. It may be finished within the next two weeks - just in time for spring break.
