Happy Valentines Day

I love my wife. I've loved her for thirty years. I love that she is beautiful, fun to be around, kind to everyone, without guile, and beautiful (did I already mention that?)

Today we spent Valentines Day together caring from two of our grandsons while Ashley slept. We often spend Mondays with Boston and Cade since Ashley works night shifts as a nurse in an Intensive Care Unit.

We both had visits from Doctor Boston who surprisingly still makes house calls. I had a slight pretend fever and need a series of shots. Brenda's ear infection had cleared up nicely.

Then we played rodeo (the boys will be attending the Houston Rodeo again this year during Spring Break). We lassoed pretend bulls (sofa pillows thrown on the floor made do), then the boys rode a very fearsome (albeit old) bull named Papa. They both managed to stay on the full 8 seconds, but unfortunately were disqualified because they used both hands to hold onto the Papa's neck.

We shopped at Sam's Club for groceries and just for fun. We touched pretty much everything in the warehouse and entertained all the other grandparents who were shopping there today.

By late afternoon all that was left to do was wash cars and take a walk around the block with Manny. Jamie dropped by to retrieve his sons and share dinner with us before they all headed to Bass Pro Shop for even more shopping (of sorts).

This evening we went to the movies for our weekly night out with our friends Kelli and Stan Carter. We love those two! We almost always go to the dollar theater for whatever is showing. This evening the movie was "How Do You Know" - an appropriate romantic comedy (chick flick) staring Reese Witherspoon and Owen Wilson.

All in all, today was a fantastic Valentines Day spent with my wife.
